DIY Pinecone Christmas Trees
Christmas time is the best time for crafting, in my opinion. There are so many fun and festive crafts you can do. This year we did a last-minute craft using very minimal supplies. Not only did we already have all the supplies at home but it was also a quick and easy craft for the kids. Let me show you how to make these very simple, cute, and still festive pinecone Christmas trees to add to your holiday decor!
What You’ll Need
- Pinecones
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Glitter (optional)
- Glue (optional)
- Other Craft Decorations (optional)
PINECONES
You’ll need pinecones to decorate. You can use different shapes and sizes. We have a lot of pine trees near us so collected some from our yard but you can also buy fake pinecones with Christmas decorations in stores or in craft stores.
PAINT
Whatever colors you wish to paint your tree. I mostly used green but also let my kids choose if they wanted any additional colors.
PAINTBRUSH
You’ll need a paintbrush to paint the pinecones.
GLITTER
This is optional. It can and will be messy to use but I personally loved making some glittery ones.
GLUE
This is optional. Often we simply sprinkled the glitter into the paint to dry/stick but you can also use glue instead.
OTHER CRAFT DECORATIONS
Any other Christmasy craft/decoration supplies you may want to add to your pinecones. We added some colored cotton balls.
Let’s Get Started
STEP #1
Paint your pinecone whatever color(s) you wish.
STEP #2
Sprinkle glitter into the paint on your pinecone. You could also sprinkle glue on the pinecone and then sprinkle the glitter in the glue.
STEP #3
Glue any additional craft items onto your pinecone that you wish. My kids wanted to glue colored puffy balls onto their trees like tree toppers.
And there you have it! Your very own creative Christmas tree decor to add to your collection. Happy creating!
