DIY Christmas Footprint Crafts
I love making Christmas crafts with my kids. Making footprint crafts are some of my favorite. If you’re looking for some festive Christmas themed craft ideas to do with your kids, then look no further!
I have compiled this list of some of my favorite Christmas footprint crafts that are simple and require minimal supplies. So break out those crafting supplies and get ready for some fun.
Mistletoes Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Green paint
- Red paint
- Paintbrush
- Paper or canvas
- Red ribbon (optional)
- Glue (optional)
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s feet green. I did one at a time.
- Place two footprints back to back on a paper or canvas. Use opposite footprints facing outward.
- Paint a red ribbon coming down from the top of the paper to the footprints.
- Paint a red bow at the top of the footprints.
- Optional: Instead of painting a red bow you could tie a red ribbon and glue it into place on the paper. I personally used an actual ribbon and hot glued it into place.
Christmas Wreath Hand & Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Green paint
- Red paint
- Paintbrush
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s hand green.
- Place the green handprints one after the other in a circle shape on your paper or canvas.
- Paint your child’s foot red.
- Place two red footprints side by side at the bottom of the green handprint circle. Use the same foot twice so they both face the same way.
Christmas Tree Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Green paint
- Yellow paint
- Blue paint
- Red paint
- Purple paint
- Paintbrush
- Black pen or marker
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s foot green.
- Place the green footprint in the center of your paper or canvas, toes at the bottom.
- Let the green footprint dry.
- Paint a yellow star at the top of the green footprint (aka the heel).
- Paint yellow, blue, red and purple circles across the footprint as if they are lights.
- Draw a little line that attaches the lights together with the black pen/marker.
Reindeer Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Brown paint
- Red paint
- Paintbrush
- Black pen or marker
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s foot brown and the heel red.
- Place the footprint on the center of your paper or canvas. Toes on top.
- Let the footprint dry.
- Draw eyes and antlers on the footprint with a pen or marker.
Reindeer Hand & Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Brown paint
- Red paint
- White paint
- Paintbrush
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s foot brown and heel red.
- Place the footprint on your paper or canvas with toes on top.
- Paint your child’s hands brown.
- Place each hand on the sides of the top of the foot on either side of the toes (like antlers).
- Let handprints and footprint dry.
- Paint white eyes on the ball of the footprint.
The Grinch Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Green paint
- Red paint
- White paint
- Black pen or marker
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s foot green.
- Place the footprint on a paper or canvas. Heel on top.
- Let green footprint dry.
- Paint a red and white Santa hat on the heel of the footprint.
- Draw a Grinch’s face on the heel of the footprint. I drew eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
Max (Grinch’s dog) Footprint
Supplies you’ll need:
- Dark brown paint
- Tan paint
- Red paint
- Black pen or marker
- Paper or canvas
Step by Step Guide:
- Paint your child’s foot dark brown.
- Place the footprint on your paper or canvas. Heel on top.
- Let the footprint dry.
- Use tan paint to paint an antler on the top of the heel.
- Use dark brown paint to paint ears on starting at the top of the heel.
- Use dark brown paint to draw a tail coming up from the side of the ball of the foot.
- Use red paint to paint a collar around the middle of the foot.
- Use the black pen/marker to draw on Max’s face. I drew eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
- Use the black pen to draw a little bow on the bottom of the antler.
