DIY No-Sew Fleece Blanket

Winter is in full swing. I don’t know about you but I am not a fan of cold weather at all. With the weather getting cooler I’m always looking for ways to stay warm. Everyone needs a good cozy blanket for the winter. And what’s cozier then fleece? Fleece blankets are the bomb. If you’re looking for a good fleece blanket I know just what you need! Here is my simple step by step guide to making my personal favorite kind of DIY no-sew fleece blanket.

What You’ll Need

• Fleece fabric
• Scissors

FLEECE FABRIC
You’ll need two equal pieces of fleece fabric. For an adult, I typically use 2 1/2 to 3 yards of each fabric. If you’re making one for a child you could go smaller.

Let’s Get Started

STEP #1
Layout the two pieces of fabric (one on top of the other) on the ground so that the ends match up.

STEP #2
Cut a square out of both sets of fabric in all four corners. I typically cut the square at about 3-4 inches on each side.

STEP #3
Cut strips all the way around the fabric. Match up the strip length to the now missing square length on the corners. I cut my strips about an inch in width.

STEP #4
Tie all the strips in double knots. I like to do a couple on each side at a time to help keep it from getting lopsided while tightening the knots. For example, I’ll tie 5 strips on one side, then 5 on the next side, and I work my way around until I’ve completed it.
